Sushi Neta Dictionary 寿司ネタ
For people who don't speak Japanese may have difficulty to ordering Sushi in Japan. Because most of menu written in Japanese, and not many Japanese people speak English.
What you need to do is deciding Nigiri(with topping on hand gripped rice)/Maki(material in the roll)/Gunkanmaki(topping on roll) and its topping selection. They also can serve Sashimi, which is sliced raw fish without rice.
ie. kappa maki(Cucamber roll), tekka maki(tuna roll), tekka/maguro no nigiri(tuna topping on hand gripped rice), tekka/maguro no sashimi(sliced raw tuna), ikura no Gunkanmaki(salmon roe topping on roll), negi toro maki(roll with onion and minced tuna), negi toro gunkanmaki(onion and minced tuna on roll), etc..
If you don't like Wasabi, you can order "さびぬき Sabinuki" or "わさびぬき Wasabinuki" without wasabi.
Also, some people may prefer cooked fish, like "tekka no aburi(grilled tuna)".
