Shippou-yaki
Shippou-yaki(Japanese 七宝焼) or Cloisonné (French pronunciation: [klwazɔne]) is an ancient technique for decorating metalwork objects with colored material held in place or separated by metal strips or wire, normally of gold.
It is believed that it was brought to Japan from the Middle East via the Silk Road and through China. At present, Cloisonne, which has been discovered as the oldest archaeological relic in Japan, is the Kengoshizuka Kofun, which is estimated to have been built in the late 7th century (late Kofun period) in Asuka Village, Takaichi District, Nara Prefecture, in 1977.
Owari-shippou is very famous, even succesors has been decreasing, although we still see its historical traditional crafts.
