Takigyo (Japanese 滝行) or Waterfall Meditation Practice is one of cold water practice in religeous practices in Japan, which also has been considered one of alternative medicine, which had been mentioned in the old Japanese documents, Kojiki and Nihon Shoki, 1300 years ago.
