Visit Ninja Village
Ninja who played active rolls in various parts of Japan from the Nanboku-cho period, 14th century to the Edo period behind wars and the governments. Among them, the Ninja from Iga(伊賀) and Kouga(甲賀) are famous as the strongest elite group. If you visit the facilities in two villages, you can experience their training and life of Ninja, can see the tools and weapons what they used.
甲賀流 Koga-ryu Ninja Yashiki
where the historic Ninja mansions still existThe Ninja mansion built during the Genroku Nenkan (1688-1704) is open to the public, and the "Koka Ryu Ninja Mansion" in Koka city is the one. Mochizuki Izumo-nokami, who built this mansion, was the leader of the 53 Koga families who participated in the Hagi no Jin in 1487. After passing through the well-maintained garden, there is a signboard for medicine at the entrance. Ninja have traveled around the country with selling medicines and in the form of Yamabushi during the daytime and gathered information, but the Mochizuki family also have manufactured and sold medicines. Koga City is still a thriving pharmaceutical industry.
When you enter the mansion, you can see a large hall, and you can see a video introducing Karakuri. Mechanisms such as hidden stairs and loopholes that connect to the outdoors remain as they were at the time. Materials such as ninjutsu books and ninja tools are also on display.
